Love this write-up. Completely agree that the biggest deficit in our education system is we never understand the motivation behind the things we learn. But I wonder if the problem is bigger than the focus on measurement. I struggle to explain things well to my 5 year old and I realise its because I have to derive the motivation on the spot, since it was never taught to me that way. Because we are the product of a system that didn’t provide motivation, we find it very difficult to impart it. The idea of using AI to bridge that gap is awesome. love it.
Especially now, with the wealth of great material available on youtube/the wider net, our work might be much more about not letting that frustration of not knowing yet get to them, but channel it help them find ways to it on their own, either the solution or some great explanation of it. Can also help us deal well with the relentless and tenacious "but why's" of the early years :)
